Ethiopia’s civilization stretches far back into Africa’s history. Mysterious stone structures, churches hewn into solid rock, sophisticated structures that predate most of Western Civilization still hold uncovered mysteries. There’s a lot of knowledge and secrets that ancient Ethiopians tried to leave behind and all these were told in stories by Muslims in the hot, dry deserts of the East; Christians from the cool, central Highlands; and people
from even older religions from the warm, humid South. The different faiths and cultures are reflected in the stories, with their varying notions of God, heaven, and the spirit world. There are funny stories with a twist, exciting adventure stories of brave warriors and hunters, clever stories of cunning and trickery, along with stories about ogres and kings and merchants and farmers and animals. Ozferti is a storyteller from ancient Ethiopia. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can wash your sins to Abay River, the so-called Blue Nile. Prismatica and Felipe Granda stay cool in Lake Turkana
